Student Awards Ceremony Nominations Needed

The Office of Student Programs and the Associated Students of Clover Park Technical College are proud to present the first annual Student Awards Ceremony.

Nominations are now being accepted online at: https://sites.google.com/site/cptcstudentawardsceremony/.

Nominations must be submitted no later than Mar. 21, at 5 p.m. in order to be considered.

The awards ceremony will have three categories: student-nominated, faculty-nominated, and cabinet-selected.

Student-nominated awards are:

STUDENT ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR:

This award is given to an administrator, staff or faculty member for their dedication to student concerns and work on behalf of students.

OUTSTANDING STUDENT LEADER:

This award is given to the student leader who has made outstanding contributions to their organization and has demonstrated excellence in areas of leadership, volunteered his/her services for the college community and is respected amongst fellow students.

ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR:

This award is given to the student organization that provides outstanding experiences for club members, and makes a significant effort to enrich the experiences of students outside of the organizations membership.

FACULTY MEMBER OF THE YEAR:

This award is given to a faculty member for excellence in instruction and is nominated by students.

The faculty-nominated award is the academic excellence award, which will be given to one student within each of the College’s four academic division for outstanding scholarship.

The cabinet-selected awards are selected by College Cabinet Members from the pool of nominees for all awards. The awards are:

PRESIDENTIAL AWARD:

This award is for all around excellence. Students who have demonstrated academic excellence as well as a high level of campus and/or community engagement and leadership. This award is selected by the college President.

VICE PRESIDENT'S AWARD FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE:

This award is for the student who has demonstrated outstanding scholarship within their technical program or general education course. This award is selected by the Vice President of Instruction.

VICE PRESIDENT'S AWARD FOR LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE:

This award is for the student who has made outstanding contributions to their organization or the college community and has demonstrated excellence in the area of leadership and service.

The Awards Ceremony will take place June 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McGavick Conference Center at Clover Park Technical College’s Lakewood Campus.
