CPTC Participates in Make A Difference Day

A big “Thank You!” to everyone from CPTC who participated in the City of Lakewood’s 10thannual Make A Difference Day event on Saturday! Our volunteers donated food for Emergency Food Network and spent their Saturday morning to help with several projects around the community, including placing grave markers for Western State Hospital patients at the historic Ft. Steilacoom Cemetery and beautifying Tyee Park Elementary School. We even got to meet the Mayor of Lakewood! Make A Difference Day is a national day of service dedicated to neighbors helping neighbors. The Lakewood event was just one of many across the United States. We are proud of our student volunteers!

Our students have been plugging away this year on numerous service projects including:
· Cosmetology participating in “Think Pink” and “Fi(gh)t for the Cure” placing pink extensions in people’s hair for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
· Human Services, Cosmetology, & Dental Assisting volunteering at Project Homeless Connect
· Sustainable Building Science, Architectural Engineering Design, & Environmental Science building raised garden beds for the Green Apple Day of Service

Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to making the world a better place!
