October 27, 2012: Make a Difference Day
8 a.m.-noon at Lakewood City Hall and
sites around Lakewood
Join us as we support the Lakewood Community
by participating in Make a Difference Day. The day starts at City Hall for
refreshments and orientation. Then, participants split up to work at one of
four sites across the city:

Ft. Steilacoom
Park Cemetery – work with
Grave Concerns to install 50-60 new historical grave markers
·
Tyee Park
Elementary – Beautification project
planting bulbs and rhododendrons
·
Lakewood
Community Garden – Work with Kiwanis
to help ready raised garden beds
·
West Pierce
Fire & Rescue Pumpkin Patch in University Place – Help children pick out pumpkins, paint faces, run
games, etc. (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
This also serves as a food drive for
Emergency Food Network, so be sure to bring canned food with you! To Volunteer:
