CPTC Operations update

As we settle in to fall quarter I wanted to share with you a brief college operations update.

The College Green: The majority of college staff who participated in the naming survey recommended that we name the green space where Building 18 once stood The College Green. Landscaping and installation of the irrigation system will soon be in place. Final hydro-seeding will take place in the spring in time for being finished along with the opening of the Health Sciences Facility.
Health Sciences Facility: The Health Sciences Facility continues to progress on time and on budget. Efforts are now underway to finalize the equipment list with faculty. Again, you can always watch the construction progress in real time at www.cptc.edu/webcams.

Learning Resource Center: Construction continues on Phase II of the renovation of Building 15 into the Learning Resource Center. The second phase includes the transformation of the former college cafeteria into a technology commons with space for over fifty computer workstations.
If you haven’t already, please take a moment to look at the newly renovated spaces where the former Library was located including new group study spaces, the Tutoring Center, E-learning and the Teaching and Learning Center.

Harrison Prep Academy Update: Thank you for your continued patience as the Clover Park School District finishes their infrastructure work that impacts Redwood Drive and Runway Road. The temporary Runway Road connector is still slated to be complete by the end of October.
New Parking Lot: Many of you have commented on Building 29 being demolished. The result will be a 115-stall parking lot to be used for the west end of campus. Approximately half of this parking lot was paid for by the Clover Park School District as the College lost 61 parking stalls with the demolition of the Portable Village. It is anticipated that the parking lot will be ready for use at the end of November.

You can find the complete listing of the Operations Updates and specific listings by visiting www.cptc.edu/blog and searching for “Operations.” As always, if you have questions, please contact me directly at amy.goings@cptc.edu. Thank you.
