Clover Park Technical College representatives Steven Ellis, dean at CPTC, Dr. Phil Venditti, and Olivia Vanorden were joined by Brooke Zimmers of the Communication Studies Department at Shoreline Community College in presenting a session at the International Open Education Conference in Vancouver, B.C., earlier this week. The presentation, entitled "Evolution or Revolution: Perspectives from Deans, Devotees, Doubters, and Doers," was attended by an audience of approximately 50 administrators, classroom faculty members, librarians, and government officials from North and South America, Asia, and Europe.

The conference, whose theme was "Beyond Content," featured keynote speeches by international leaders in the Open Educational Resources Movement and explored implications of introducing and popularizing openly-licensed educational materials such as those produced by Washington State's Open Course Library. The University of British Columbia hosted the event at its Robson Square campus in downtown Vancouver. Olivia Vanorden was the sole student presenter in the three-day conference.
