Exchange Student Ramona Kohlmeier

Earlier this week, CPTC welcomed Ramona Kohlmeier, the exchange student from St. Leon-Rot, Germany, a small town near Heidelberg.

Ramona was selected to attend CPTC through the exchange program called Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (CBYX), which is a reciprocal scholarship program funded by the U.S. Congress and German Parliament (Bundestag). After arriving in NY in the beginning of August, Ramona traveled to Iowa and Florida for three weeks before arriving in Tacoma, WA.

In the fall quarter, Ramona will study Graphic Technolgies under the instruction of John Moyer and Darryl Owens, and will engage in internship from January through June 2012 before she goes back to Germany.

Back in Germany, Ramona studied Graphic Design for three years and completed an apprenticeship as a media designer. Ramona is an avid sport fan, especially the Adler Mannheim - the best ice-hockey team in Germany. She is looking forward to watching Seattle's local sport games, as well as going on excursions in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

While attending CPTC, Ramona will live with her host family Brendon Pedro (our CNISS student) and his wife Chelsea.

Please give Ramona a warm welcome!
