Histology instructor wins the 2010 "Teacher of the Year" award

Bekki Haggerty, Medical Histology Technician instructor at Clover Park Technical College, has won the 2010 "Leica Leadership in Teaching" award.
Bekki Haggerty helps student, Nikki Durkee, analyze a slide of human tissue under a microscope. Medical Histology is the study of abnormal or pathological tissues.

Haggerty is a nationally certified Histology technician with 20 years of industry experience.
Her program is one of the largest in the nation with the highest success rate of 93 percent. The national average is 56 percent.

She is the recipient of the 2010 National Society of Histotechnology excellence in teaching award “Teacher of the year.”

Ms. Rohrback serves on the Clover Park Histology Technician Advisory Board. She is also the Region VIII director for NSH.
