Debbie Lewandowski, our dental assistant instructor, and Debbie McGlauthlin, cosmetology instructor, were recently a part of Project Homeless Connect. This annual event is put together by Ellie Ottie of the Tacoma Housing Authority, the Tacoma Health Department, and Medical Northwest - using their fleet of 4 mobile vans. The event helps the homeless of Tacoma and surrounding communities come together under one roof to receive the following services for free:
- HIV/AIDS testing
- Dental care
- Medical assistance
- Hygiene assistance
- Cosmetology services
Inside the amazing vans:
The vans provide a clean and safe environment for dental and medical care.
Debbie Lewandowski with her class. She and many others including our very own Debbie McGlauthlin, cosmetology instructor, received recognition for their effort at the Homeless Awareness Week luncheon this week. This is the third year of Project Homeless Connect.
Debbie Lewandowski has volunteered for two years running. Our community survives because of people like her.
Thank you for representing Clover Park and the fantastic programs you teach.
